FAQs
-
Iron Kings Baseball is a development-first travel baseball club focused on helping young athletes grow both on and off the field. Our program emphasizes structured training, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and long-term player development in a positive and competitive environment.
-
Iron Kings Baseball is currently focused on building a strong and intentional 13U program for our inaugural season.
As the organization grows, we plan to expand into additional age levels including 14U and 15U while maintaining our commitment to player development and strong team culture.
-
Our goal is to help prepare athletes to compete at the high school level and beyond through structured development, quality coaching, discipline, accountability, and competitive experience.
We want players to leave our program more confident, fundamentally sound, mentally prepared, and better equipped for the next level of baseball.
-
We are not focused solely on trophies, rankings, or hype. Our goal is to build complete ballplayers through intentional coaching, structured practices, skill development, and strong team culture.
We believe details matter. Attitude matters. Effort matters. We expect players to compete hard, support their teammates, and carry themselves with humility and professionalism.
Work hard. Stay humble.

No. We absolutely compete to win, but winning is not our only measure of success.
At younger ages especially, we prioritize player development, fundamentals, baseball IQ, confidence, leadership, and learning how to compete the right way. Our goal is to prepare players for long-term growth both as athletes and as teammates.
-
Development-first means we prioritize teaching, instruction, repetition, and long-term growth over short-term results.
Players will receive structured coaching focused on:
fundamentals
baseball IQ
situational awareness
position-specific skills
mental approach
teamwork and leadership
We want athletes to improve consistently throughout the season, not simply play games every weekend.
-
Teams will typically practice twice per week, with additional optional skill labs offered throughout the season.
Practices are structured, organized, and designed to maximize instruction, repetition, and player development.
-
Skill labs are additional development opportunities focused on specific areas of the game such as:
hitting
fielding
catching
pitching
speed and agility
baseball IQ and situational work
These sessions allow players to receive more focused instruction in smaller group settings.
-
Absolutely.
We support multi-sport athletes and believe athletic diversity can help young players develop physically, mentally, and competitively. We encourage balance and want players to enjoy competing in multiple sports when possible.
-
We expect players to:
work hard
be coachable
support teammates
maintain a positive attitude
show effort and hustle
respect coaches, teammates, umpires, and opponents
compete with humility and discipline
Talent alone does not define our culture. Character and attitude matter.
-
We believe strong parent culture is essential to a healthy team environment.
We ask parents to:
support all players and coaches
avoid negativity and sideline coaching
allow coaches to coach
communicate respectfully
model sportsmanship and professionalism
We want Iron Kings to be a positive environment for players, families, and coaches alike.
-
Teams will typically compete in approximately 8–10 tournaments combined for Fall and Spring, depending on age level and schedule.
-
Tournaments will be played throughout Arizona.
-
Playing time is earned through effort, attitude, preparation, attendance, development, and team needs.
Our coaches are committed to developing all players while also maintaining a competitive environment. Situational gameplay and tournament competition may impact playing time decisions.
-
Iron Kings coaches are selected not only for baseball knowledge, but also for leadership, communication, character, and their commitment to developing young athletes in a positive environment.
We value coaches who can teach, mentor, lead, and help build strong team culture.
-
Players will participate in evaluations that may include:
hitting
fielding
throwing
athletic movement
positional work
overall effort and coachability
Roster decisions are based on overall fit, development potential, attitude, competitiveness, and team needs.
